Our Assessment: The 1911 and 1911-A1 pistols served the military of the United States from 1911 to 1985, through two World Wars and the Korean and Vietnam wars. They gained a reputation as a reliable handgun with plenty of stopping power, and are held in high regard by those who have used them. The design is one of the most beloved and has gone through many design changes but nonetheless still finds itself in favor with just about every sphere of gun culture not matter if its carrying them, competing with them, or collecting them….over a century since its inception!!! This is a Colt MK IV Series ’70 Government Model from 1981. The descendent of the original Model of 1911, it has updates of the 1911-A1 as well as a collet-style bushing to improve accuracy. This one comes all dressed up in a special finish from the Custom Shop, E-Nickel. This is sharp pistol and has hardly any wear, one would do well to score such a beauty, it will improve any collection lucky enough to have it! Please see our photos and good luck!
Some are hot, some are not, but thankfully most can be shot!
