Both revolvers retain approximately 98-99% of their original gold-plated finish. There is a residue from storage on either cylinder. (BG016)The Single Action Army 45 shows some finish loss and flaking on th cylinder at two of the chambers. There are minimal handling marks, and no cylinder turn lines are visible. The markings remain crisp, and the screw heads are sharp. Overall, both revolvers rate in very good to Excellent condition.
Mechanics: The actions on both revolvers function correctly. The cylinders lock up tightly with minimal play, and the triggers are crisp. We did not fire these revolvers. As with all firearms, a thorough inspection and cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.
Box, Paperwork & Accessories: Both revolvers come with their own separate wooden display cases, each designed to elegantly showcase the revolver it houses.
Our Assessment: This is a truly remarkable pairing of two Colt “California Gold Rush” commemorative revolvers with thematic serial numbers: 0007GR(BG015) (Frontier Scout, .22 LR) and 0007GP(BG016) (Single Action Army, .45 Colt). The revolvers are in Excellent condition, retaining nearly all of their original gold-plated finish and featuring faux ivory grips with gold-colored Colt medallions. The barrels of both revolvers are marked “CALIFORNIA GOLD RUSH MODEL,” connecting them thematically. Their bright bores, rated 10/10, and flawless mechanics reflect minimal use, likely only at the factory.
