Markings: The left side of the barrel is marked “COLT ANACONDA / 44 MAGNUM ”. The right side of the barrel is marked “Double Action Revolver/COLT’S MFG. HARTFORD. CT USA”. The left side of the frame has a Colt Rampant. The yoke cut and crane are marked “MM31104”. The left of the trigger guard shows us the “VP”in an inverted triangle and a “5” for proofing.
Barrel Length: 8” with Full Length Ventilated Top Rib and Full Length Underlug
Sights / Optics: The front sight is a ramped blade with orange insert pinned to the rib with two pins. The rear sight is a white trimmed, square notched, leaf adjustable for windage and elevation pinned to the frame.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The grips are one-piece Pachmyer rubber overmolded with checkered texture with finger grooves. There are no rips or tears. The texture is well defined. Overall, the grips rate in about Excellent condition. There are four other grip sets that accompany the revolver. One is the original Colt grips, second is 3 different monogrip sets. All are in excellent condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no erosion. In this writer’s opinion the bore rates 9.5/10.
Overall Condition: This handgun retains about 99% of its metal finish. The balance of the finish shows no operation wear. The cylinder has a light thin turn-line. The screw heads are sharp. The markings are clear. Overall, this handgun rates in about Excellent condition. There is factory grease on the crane and on portions of the metal. Please see the photos so you can appreciate its condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly and the cylinder lockup has very little play on each chamber. The double action trigger is smooth and the single action is crisp. We did not fire this handgun. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.
Box, Paperwork & Accessories: a blue plastic Colt case, owner’s manual, and two separate, “Reduced Power” hammer springs, still in the original bags.
Our Assessment: This Colt Anaconda Model in .44 Magnum with a 8″ barrel is almost 32 years old. It seems to have been waiting for the right owner to take it from its case like a sword in the stone.
