Markings: The left of the barrel is marked “1819- ALABAMA SESQUICENTENNIAL – 1969”. The top of the barrel is marked “COLT’S PT. FA.. MFG. CO. HARTFORD CT. U.S.A.”. The right of the barrel is marked “COLT SINGLE ACTION FRONTIER SCOUT 22 L.R.”. The left of the frame is marked with a rampant colt in circle. The bottom of the frame, forward of the grip frame, is marked “009SC”. The left of the trigger guard is marked “2”. The butt of the grip frame has scroll engraving.

Barrel Length: 4 3/4″

Sights / Optics: The front sight is a quarter-round blade fixed to the front of the barrel. The rear sight is a square notch in the topstrap.

Stock Configuration & Condition: The grips are two-piece smooth faux-ivory plastic panels with gold colored Colt medallions. The grips have a few scattered minor marks. There is some scuffing on the left panel (facing down in case). There are no chips or cracks. The grips are in Fine condition.

Type of Finish: Gold & Silver

Finish Originality: Original

Bore Condition: The bore is semi-bright, the rifling is sharp. There is no erosion in the bore, but there is stubborn fouling on the lands. In this writer’s opinion, the bore rates 8 out of 10.

Overall Condition: This revolver retains about 99% of its metal finish. There is no notable wear or damage, only light handling marks and a couple of spots of dried grease on the cylinder. The screw heads are sharp. The markings are clear. Overall, this revolver is in Excellent condition.

Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We did not fire this handgun. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.

Box, Paperwork & Accessories: This revolver comes in a Colt Alabama Sesquicentennial presentation case with key and custom-applied information placard.

Our Assessment: Made by Colt in 1969 to celebrate the sesquicentennial of Alabama this is a limited edition Colt Frontier Scout revolver. It is actually the very last of the Alabama guns, number 3089 of 3,089 produced. The gun is in about Excellent condition with only some light handling marks in its beautiful silver and gold finish. The revolver comes with a Colt presentation case. This would be a great find for an Alabama resident. A limited edition gun like this, and the very last one, would also interest the Colt collector in general, especially in this high condition. Please see our photos and good luck!
