Markings: The left side of the slide is marked “U.S.&S CO. SWISSVALE PA. U.S.A”.  The top of the slide is marked “P”. The left side of the frame is marked “GHD / P”. The right side of the frame is marked “UNITED STATES PROPERTY / M1911-A1 U.S. ARMY / NO. 1193914”.

Sights / Optics: The front sight is a small blade with a serrated rear face that is fixed to the slide.  The rear sight is a flat top square-notch that is dovetailed to the slide.

Stock Configuration & Condition: The grips are a two piece checkered plastic. There are no chips or cracks.  The checkering is sharp. The back strap is checkered. There is light handling wear. The grips are in Very Good condition.

Finish Originality: Original

Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no erosion in the bore. In this writer’s opinion, this bore rates at 9/10

Overall Condition: This handgun retains about 65% of its metal finish. The slide has patina and pitting. There are scratches and rust freckling on the frame. The screws and pins are in good condition. Overall this pistol rates at a fair condition.

Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We did not fire this handgun. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance requirements.
