Sights/Optics: The front sight is a thin metal blade fixed to the slide. The rear sight is a flat top square notch, dovetailed to the slide.
Markings: The left side of the slide is marked “ADOPTED” / “MARCH 29, 1911 – UNITED STATES ARMY” / “COLT’S PT F.A. MFG. CO.” / “HARTFORD, CT. U.S.A.” with a Rampant Colt logo. The left side of the frame is marked “UNITED STATES PROPERTY”. The right side of the slide is marked “MODEL OF 1911-2011”. The right side of the frame is marked with the serial number.
Stock Configuration and Condition: The grips are a two piece checkered walnut with diamonds around the escutcheons. There is little to no handling wear, with only minor compression dents. The checkering remains sharp and defined. There are no chips or cracks. Overall, the grips are in Excellent condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright with sharp rifling. There is no erosion in the bore. In this writer’s opinion, the bore rates a 9.75/10.
Overall Condition: This handgun retains about 99% of its finish. There are minor handling marks, more noticed on the safety and on the sides of the back strap safety. There is a lanyard loop attached at the heel. Overall, this pistol rates in Excellent condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. The safeties works as designed. We did not fire this handgun. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.

Our Assessment: This Colt M1911 Government Model Tier III 100th Anniversary pistol is a handsome commemorative tribute to one of the most important American service pistols ever adopted. The original M1911 was formally adopted by the U.S. Army on March 29, 1911, after John Browning’s design proved itself through a series of military trials, and it went on to serve through two World Wars, Korea, Vietnam, and beyond. This 2011 Colt anniversary model honors that legacy with martial-style markings including “UNITED STATES PROPERTY,” “MODEL OF 1911-2011,” and the adoption date on the slide. Chambered in classic .45 ACP and built in the traditional 5″ Government Model configuration, it has the period-correct look collectors appreciate, including a black oxide finish, thin blade front sight, square-notch rear sight, lanyard loop, and checkered walnut double-diamond grips.
This pistol remains in Excellent overall condition, retaining about 99% of its original finish with only minor handling marks, most noticeable around the safety and grip safety. The bore is bright with sharp rifling and no erosion, rating 9.75/10 in this writer’s opinion, and the action and safeties function correctly. The walnut grips are also Excellent, showing little to no handling wear with sharp checkering and no chips or cracks. The included serial-matching Colt factory white box, Colt blue cardboard box, inner box, chamber flag, child lock, 1911 “L” wrench, paperwork, and two 7-round magazines—one still wrapped—make this a very complete and collectible anniversary package. This Colt should appeal strongly to 1911 collectors, Colt enthusiasts, military commemorative collectors, and bidders seeking a high-condition centennial Government Model with strong historical presentation.
