Markings: The left side of the slide is marked “PATENTED APR. 20, 1897. SEPT. 9, 1902 / DEC. 19, 1905. FEB. 14, 1911. AUG. 19, 1913” followed by “COLT’S PT. F. A. MFG. CO. / HARTFORD, CT. U.S.A.” The right side of the slide is marked “COLT AUTOMATIC / CALIBRE 45”. The right side of the frame is marked “GOVERNMENT MODEL” and “C 15660.” The left side of the slide is marked with a rampant Colt logo.

Sights / Optics: The front sight is a fixed rounded blade. The rear sight is a U-notch dovetailed into the slide.

Stock Configuration & Condition: The grips are checkered wood panels with double-diamond patterns. The wood shows mild handling wear with some compression marks and light handling marks. The checkering is sharp. The stocks rate in about very good overall condition.

Magazine Quantity & Condition: One 7-round .45 ACP magazine in good condition.

Type of Finish: Blued

Finish Originality: Refinished (Turnbull Restoration )

Bore Condition: The bore is bright, the rifling is sharp. There is no visible erosion in the bore but there is stubborn fouling throughout. In this writer’s opinion, the bore rates 9/10.

Overall Condition: This pistol retains about 98% of its metal refinish. The balance of the finish shows mild handling wear. The slide serrations remain crisp. The screw heads are sharp. The markings are sharp and clear. Overall, this pistol rates in about Excellent condition.

Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We did not fire this pistol. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance requirements.
