Sights/Optics: The front sight is a metal blade with a white dot fixed to the slide. The rear sight is a square notch with white dots dovetailed to the slide.
Markings: The slide is silver etched with a Dahlia, smoking gun, and winged heart motif. The left side of the frame is marked with “GOVERNMENT MODEL”. The right side of the frame is marked with “COLT’S PT F.A. MFG. CO. HARTFORD, CONN. U.S.A.” and the serial number.
Stock Configuration and Condition: The grips are two piece white Pearlite with silver Rampant Colt medallions and “EZ” engraved on both panels. There are little to no handling marks on the panels. The spare grip panels are two piece checkered walnut. There are little to no handling marks on the spare panels. There are no chips or cracks. Overall the grips are in Excellent condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright with sharp rifling. There is no erosion in the bore. In this writer’s opinion, the bore rates a 9.5/10.
Overall Condition: This handgun retains about 99% of its original finish, with only minor handling marks. The hammer face and barrel show minor operational use. The screws are sharp. Overall, this pistol rates in Excellent condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We did not fire this handgun. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.

Our Assessment: This Colt Government Model Emiliano Zapata Centennial TALO is a handsome modern commemorative 1911 chambered in the desirable .38 Super Auto, a cartridge long associated with Colt’s Government Model and especially popular among collectors of Latin American and Mexican-themed special editions. Produced in 2020, this pistol features a classic 5″ Government Model profile with a blued finish, three-dot sights, and silver-etched slide decoration incorporating Dahlia, smoking gun, and winged heart motifs. The white Pearlite grips with silver Rampant Colt medallions and “EZ” engraving give the pistol a striking presentation, while the included spare checkered walnut panels allow for a more traditional Colt appearance.
