Our Assessment: This Cimarron-imported Uberti Model 1876 Centennial Rifle is a modern reproduction of Winchester’s large-frame toggle-link lever action, manufactured in 2008 and chambered in .45-60 W.C.F. The 24″ barrel, tubular magazine, straight-grip walnut stock, capped forend, crescent steel buttplate, and traditional barrel-mounted sights give it the classic late-19th century sporting rifle profile. The upper tang is drilled and tapped for a peep sight, offering a period-style sighting upgrade option while retaining a traditional appearance.
Condition is Very Good overall, with the rifle retaining about 97% of its original blued finish. The metal shows only light scattered scratches and minor handling and operational wear, while the screw heads remain sharp and the markings are clear. The smooth walnut stock set is also in Very Good condition, showing light scratches and compression dents throughout, with one more notable gouge on the left side of the buttstock. There are no chips or cracks, and the wood remains solid and attractive.
The bore is a strong feature, remaining bright with sharp rifling, no erosion, and only very minor fouling, rating 9.5/10 in this writer’s opinion. Mechanically, the action functions correctly, though the rifle has not been test fired. As with any used firearm, a thorough cleaning and inspection are advisable before use. Overall, this is a clean and appealing Uberti 1876 Centennial Rifle in the desirable .45-60 W.C.F. chambering, offering excellent bore condition, high remaining finish, classic Winchester styling, and strong shooter or collector appeal, with only minor cosmetic stock and handling wear keeping it from a higher condition grade.
