Markings: The left side receiver is labeled “1985 S-BE4061” and a triangle imprint. On the bottom of the receiver is marked “AM06194”, as well as “CG3, 7.62×39, Childer’s Guns, Fairmont, WV”. The left side of the trigger is marked “TAPCO USA 62”.

Sights / Optics: The front sight is open. The rear sight is adjustable.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The stocks are from a romanian parts kit. Features an unusual wooden foregrip.

Finish Originality: Original Finish
Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no erosion in the bore.
Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 97% of its metal finish. The balance of the finish shows light wear from previous use. The screw heads are sharp and serviceable and the pins are unmarred. The markings are crisp. Overall, this rifle rates in Very Good Condition.
Mechanics: The action functions very well. We did not fire this rifle. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance requirements.

Our Assessment: There is a reason that this gun is featured on more countries’ flags than any other. This is a great rifle with everything you need. Everything is tight and functions. This particular AK has been retooled by the fine folks over at Childer’s Guns. It is equipped with Romanian style furniture including an unusual foregrip, and has a Tapco Trigger assembly. Overall, it is a lovely example of a classic AK without a lot of modern bells and whistles found on most importers.
