Action Type: Over / Under, top break, single selective inertial trigger shotgun with ejectors and automatic re-setting safety.
Markings: The receiver is marked “105627”, “Made in Italy Bottega Inc. C. Giovanelli”, and “ORVIS SPORTING TRADITIONS Since 1856”. The barrel set is marked “Warning: read your owner’s manual before use CAESAR GUERINI Made In Italy”, 12 Ga 3″ chamber ORVIS UPLANDER SPECIAL CAESAR GUERINI USA Cambridge, MD”, and “105627”. There are also the usual Italian Proofs and the “BU” date codes.
Barrel Length: 28”
Choke: The barrels are threaded for Caesar Guerini field(Fabarm) pattern chokes. Currently installed Improved Cylinder over Cylinder.
Sights / Optics: The front sight is a brass bead affixed to the rib. The rib is finely checkered for reducing glare.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The furniture set is a checkered, high grade, two piece walnut set with a Prince of Wales grip, straight comb stock with wood butt plate. The forend is a slab side thin profile push button release forend. The length of pull is 14.75, the drop at comb is 1.5″ and the drop at heel is 2″. The cast is essentially neutral. The shotgun weighs 7lbs 3oz. The forend rattles slightly while installed. The wood shows compressions, lines, and some minor scratches scattered throughout. There are some very small chips in some of the edges of the wood, mainly on the forend. At the rear of the upper tang there are three small surface cracks forming. Overall the furniture is in about Good condition.

Finish Originality: Original
Bore Condition: The bores are mirror bright with no erosion. There are some lines present from use and some minor plastic fouling. In this writer’s opinion the bores rate 9.25/10.
Overall Condition: This shotgun retains about 90% of its metal finish. The clear coat on the receiver is peeling. There is finish missing from the barrels where the handguard rubs that is concealed when assembled. The trigger guard is missing most of its finish. There is rub wear from the safety. The inside of the action shows rub wear from use. The tang lever is missing some of its finish. The screw heads are sharp. The markings are clear. Overall, this shotgun rates in about Good condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. The shotgun has an upper tang mounted safety & barrel selector, it does set automatically and functions correctly when manually set. The break action feels a little jumpy but the lock up is very solid. We have not fired this shotgun. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.
