Markings: The left side of the dust cover is marked “0487”. The left side of the receiver is marked “AE 53 0487”, “arsenal / Las Vegas NEV. U.S.A.”, “SAM7R cal. 7.62×39 Made in BULGARIA”. The right side of the receiver is marked “S F”. The top of the upper handguard and the left side of the lower handguard are marked “US”. The bolt and bolt carrier is marked “0487”.
Barrel Length: 16.25”, 17.5″ with muzzle.
Sights / Optics: The front sight is an adjustable post. The rear sight is an “U” notch marked 1-8 with “n” for the battle position. The left side of the receiver has a scope rail.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The two piece handguard, fixed buttstock and pistol grip are synthetic. The buttstock has a trapdoor for the included cleaning kit. There is little to no wear. There are a couple of faint scratches. There are no chips or cracks. The LOP measures 13.25” from the front of the trigger to the back of the buttstock. The stock rates in about Excellent overall condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no visible erosion in the bore. There is light fouling in the bore. In this writer’s opinion the bore rates 9 out of 10.
Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 99% of its metal finish. The balance of the finish shows little to no wear. There is light operation wear. There are scratches on the receiver. The screw heads are sharp and the pins are unmarred. The markings are clear. Overall, this rifle rates in about Excellent condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We did not fire this rifle. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance requirements.

Our Assessment: The Arsenal AD SAM7R is widely regarded as one of the finest factory-produced AK-pattern rifles available on the American market. Built in Bulgaria and imported by Arsenal Inc., the SAM7R features Arsenal’s renowned hot-die forged and milled receiver, a premium construction method that distinguishes it from the more common stamped-receiver AK variants. Chambered in 7.62×39mm and utilizing the proven long-stroke piston system, the rifle combines exceptional durability with the reliability expected of the Kalashnikov platform.
This example presents in Excellent overall condition and retains matching numbered major components, including the bolt, bolt carrier, and dust cover. The synthetic furniture remains in Excellent condition with only minor handling marks and includes a cleaning kit housed in the buttstock trapdoor. The bore is bright with sharp rifling, no visible erosion, and only light fouling present, earning a strong 9/10 rating. The rifle retains approximately 99% of its original finish with only minor operational wear and light cosmetic marks visible. Complete with its detachable magazine and side-mounted optics rail, this SAM7R represents an outstanding example of one of the most respected modern AK-pattern rifles available.
