Markings: The left side of the dust cover is marked “3317”. The left side of the receiver is marked “BA 53 3317”, “arsenal / Las Vegas NEV. U.S.A.”, “SAM7R cal. 7.62×39 Made in BULGARIA”. The right side of the receiver is marked “S F”. The top of the upper handguard and the left side of the lower handguard are marked “US”. The bolt and bolt carrier is marked “3317”.

Barrel Length: 16.25”, 17.5″ with muzzle. 

Sights / Optics: The front sight is an adjustable post. The rear sight is an “U” notch marked 1-8 with “n” for the battle position. The left side of the receiver has a scope rail.

Stock Configuration & Condition: The two piece handguard, fixed buttstock and pistol grip are synthetic. There is little to no wear. There are a couple of faint scratches. There are no chips or cracks. The LOP measures 12.5” from the front of the trigger to the back of the buttstock. The stock rates in about Excellent overall condition.

Magazine Quantity & Condition: This rifle comes with a 5rd magazine and 10rd magazine.

Type of Finish: Anodized Black

Finish Originality: Original

Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no visible erosion in the bore. There is light fouling in the bore. In this writer’s opinion the bore rates 9 out of 10.

Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 99% of its metal finish. The balance of the finish shows little to no wear. There is light operation wear. There is scratching on the receiver. The screw heads are sharp and the pins are unmarred. The markings are clear. Overall, this rifle rates in about Excellent condition.

Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We did not fire this rifle. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance requirements. 

Box, Paperwork & Accessories: This rifle comes with its bayonet, the two magazines, and unloader.

Our Assessment: The Arsenal SAM7R is a premium Bulgarian AK-pattern rifle built on a milled receiver, representing one of the highest quality modern iterations of the Kalashnikov system. Manufactured by Arsenal AD in Bulgaria and imported through Arsenal Inc., the SAM7R features a hot-die forged and milled receiver rather than a stamped pattern, giving it increased rigidity and durability. Chambered in 7.62x39mm, the cartridge introduced in 1943, the platform retains the proven long stroke gas piston system while delivering a refined shooting experience compared to standard AKM rifles.

This example retains about 99 percent of its original anodized black finish with minimal handling and operational wear, showing only faint scratches across the receiver. The synthetic furniture set shows very little use and remains in Excellent condition with no cracks or damage. The bore is bright with sharp rifling and light fouling present, rating 9 out of 10 in this writer’s opinion. The rifle is equipped with an aperture style rear sight and retains the standard AK side rail for optics. The action functions correctly and the rifle includes a bayonet, 5 round and 10 round magazines, and a magazine unloader. Overall, this rifle presents as a high condition example of a milled receiver Arsenal SAM7R with desirable factory configuration.
