Our Assessment The Browning Model 78 is a well-regarded, single-shot falling block rifle known for its strength, precision, and classic styling. Introduced in the late 1970s and built in Japan by Miroku, these rifles were a tribute to the legendary Winchester 1885 and quickly gained a reputation for accuracy and reliability. This example, chambered in .375 Ruger, is a powerhouse of a rifle capable of taking down large and dangerous game.
The .375 Ruger is a modern, high-performance cartridge designed to offer magnum power in a standard-length action, delivering outstanding energy and velocity without the need for a belted case. This rifle’s long 26” barrel allows for full powder burn, maximizing velocity and downrange performance, making it an excellent choice for big game hunting, especially in Africa or Alaska.
For collectors, this Model 78 represents an opportunity to own a well-maintained example of Browning’s short-lived but highly respected single-shot rifle. For hunters, it offers a robust and accurate platform in a caliber that can handle the toughest of conditions and the largest of game. Whether you’re a shooter, hunter, or collector, this is a rifle worth adding to your collection. Please see our High Quality photos and good luck with your bids.-C.M.
