Sights / Optics: The front sight is a brass bead affixed to the front of the rib. The top of the rib is serrated.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The furniture set on this shotgun is a two piece gloss oil finished wood checkered furniture set. The stock is a semi pistol grip with fluted straight comb, and Inflex rubber buttpad. The LOP is 14″ from the front of the trigger to the back of the buttpad. The drop at comb is 1.75″ and the drop at heel is 2″. The forend has a semi finger shelf forend. The furniture set shows some minor handling wear with a few scratches in the finish scattered throughout. Overall the furniture is in about Fine Plus condition.
Type of Finish: Blue and Matte Nickel.
Finish Originality: Original
Bore Condition: The bore is mirror bright. There is no visible erosion. There is some minor visible plastic fouling in the forcing cone and some minor lines from use. In this writer’s opinion the bore rates 9 out of 10.
Overall Condition: This shotgun retains about 98% of its metal finish. The balance of the finish shows light handling/storage wear. There are scratches and light surface rust forming throughout. There is surface rust forming near the muzzle. There is a light nick on the left side of the receiver. The screwheads are sharp, the pins are unmarred and the markings are clear. The trigger shows some minor discoloration in the finish. Overall this shotgun is in about Very Good condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We have not fired this shotgun. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.

Our Assessment: The Browning Maxus Ultimate is a high-grade semi-automatic sporting shotgun designed with Browning’s PowerDrive gas system and upgraded hunting-oriented features. This 2015 example was assembled in Portugal and is chambered in 12 gauge for 3” shells. It is configured with a 26” vent-rib barrel, Browning Invector Plus choke system with Improved Cylinder installed, brass bead front sight, serrated rib, blue and matte nickel finish, and gloss oil-finished checkered wood furniture with semi-pistol grip, fluted straight comb, semi finger-shelf forend, and Inflex rubber buttpad. With its upgraded finish, walnut furniture, and 7-pound weight, this Maxus Ultimate represents a premium field shotgun configuration.
This shotgun is in Very Good condition overall, retaining about 98% of its original metal finish with light handling and storage wear, scratches, light surface rust forming, muzzle-area surface rust, a light receiver nick, and minor trigger finish discoloration. The gloss oil-finished wood furniture rates in Fine Plus condition, showing minor handling wear and scattered scratches, with the checkering remaining in good condition. The bore is mirror bright with no visible erosion, minor plastic fouling in the forcing cone, and minor use lines, rating 9 out of 10 in this writer’s opinion. The action functions correctly, the screw heads are sharp, the pins are unmarred, and the markings are clear. This Browning Maxus Ultimate should appeal to upland hunters, waterfowl hunters, sporting shooters, and collectors looking for a premium 12 gauge semi-auto with high-grade wood, Invector Plus choke versatility, and strong overall condition.
