Markings: The left side of the upper barrel is marked “BROWNING ARMS COMPANY MORGAN, UTAH & MONTREAL P.Q. / MADE IN JAPAN” The left of the monoblock is marked “09235” and “* / **”. The bottom of the monoblock is marked with “NP SP 2” The right side of the top barrel is marked “SPECIAL STEEL 28GA-2 3/4″- 28″”. The inside of the forend iron is marked “09235” and the inside of the forend is stamped “E9235”. The top tang, under the lever, is marked with “09235PY173”. The bottom of the receiver is marked “BROWNING / Citori”. The bottom of the trigger guard has a Buck Mark logo.
Barrel Length: 28″ Vent-Rib
Choke: Fixed Full over MODified.
Sights / Optics: There is a silver bead at the front of the rib. The top of the rib is finely checkered for the purpose of reducing glare.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The furniture set is a two piece configured checkered walnut . The stock is a straight hand grip, straight comb, with a black plastic Browning butt plate. The forend is a slab side Schnabel forend. The length of pull is 14″, the drop at comb 1.5″ and the drop at heel is 2″. The shotgun weighs 6lbs 12oz. There is a very slight right handed cast. The wood shows very light surface level lines, very small compressions and a few very small scratches scattered throughout. There are no visible cracks. The toe of the stock shows a chip in the butt plate, a small dent in the wood and a scratch. The butt plate shows some surface level scratches in the smooth borders with some rub wear on the edges. There is some debris in the texturing. Overall the wood is in about Very Good condition.
Type of Finish: Blued.
Finish Originality: Original
Bore Condition: The bores are mirror bright with no erosion or pitting. The bores show lines from use and some plastic fouling mainly in the lower barrel. In this writer’s opinion the bores rate 9/10.
Overall Condition: The shotgun retains about 98% of its metal finish. The barrel set shows scattered lights marks and rub wear from the forend that is concealed when assembled. There is rub wear under the safety. The gold trigger shows finish loss. The markings are clear and the screw heads are sharp. Overall the shotgun is in Very Good-Very Good+ condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. The shotgun features a single selective trigger and ejectors. The barrels lock up solidly. We have not fired this shotgun. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.
