Action Type: Over Under Shotgun, with Single Selective mechanical Trigger & Ejectors. The safety does not automatically reset. 

Markings: The left side of the upper barrel is marked “BROWNING ARMS COMPANY MORGAN, UTAH / MADE IN JAPAN/MIROKU”. The left of the MONOBLOC is marked “INVECTOR DS 32″ 3 B 1 01604YZ”. The right side of the top barrel is marked “CITORI SPECIAL STEEL 12GA-2 3/4″”. The inside of the forend iron is marked “01604” and the inside of the forend is stamped “H01604”. The top tang, under the lever, is marked with the serial number. The bottom of the receiver is marked “725 CITORI MAX TRAP”. The bottom of the trigger guard has a Browning logo. The sides of the receiver both say “MAX”. The butt plate is marked “GRACOIL”

Barrel Length: 32″ ported with raised adjustable rib. 

Choke: The barrels are threaded for Invector DS choke tubes. Currently installed with Light Full and Improved Modified. Also Includes Full, Modified, an additional Improved Modified, and a Briley Light modified. 6 chokes total.    

Sights / Optics: The front sight is a Browning Litepipe sight with interchangeable fiber optic rods currently installed with green. There is a small white mid bead. The rib is finely checkered for reducing glare. The rib is also height adjustable so you can change your POI.   

Stock Configuration & Condition: The furniture set is a two piece walnut with gloss finish. The forend is a semi-beavertail profile with full finger shelf. The stock is a Monte Carlo style right handed close radius grip with palm swell, fully adjustable comb, and Graco fully adjustable butt plate with XLT pad and hydraulic shock absorber. Current length of pull is set to 14″. The shotgun weighs 9lbs 6oz. The wood shows surface level lines, rub marks, scratches and minor compressions scattered throughout. Many of the edges of the wood show small chips in the gloss finish. The shock absorber functions correctly and the butt pad is very soft and pliable. There are no cracks. Overall the furniture set is in about Good+ condition.   

Type of Finish: Blued barrels, coin receiver with gold accents and gold toned trigger. 

Finish Originality: Original

Bore Condition: The bores are mirror bright with no erosion/pitting. The forcing cones show barely visible lines from use with no visible plastic fouling. The ports are clear.  In this writer’s opinion the bores rate 9.5/10.  

Overall Condition: This shotgun retains about 98% of its metal finish. The barrel set shows some scattered minor marks and surface level lines. The mono block shows rub wear and some scratches. The barrel set shows finish loss from the forend that is concealed when assembled. The inside of the action shows some minor rub wear from use. The top tang shows some rub marks from the lever and the safety. The screw heads are sharp. The markings are clear and the pins are clean. Overall, this gun rates in about Very Good condition.

Mechanics: The action functions correctly. The shotgun features a single selective trigger and ejectors. The barrels lock up solidly with no play. The safety does not engage automatically when the action is opened but does function properly when engaged manually. We have not fired this shotgun. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.

Box, Paperwork & Accessories: This shotgun includes the serialized box, 6 total chokes, and paperwork. 

Our Assessment: This Browning Citori 725 Trap Max was manufactured in 2021 and represents one of Browning’s most advanced purpose-built trap shotguns. Chambered in 12 gauge, it features 32-inch ported barrels with Invector DS choke tubes, allowing the shooter to tailor patterns for a variety of trap disciplines while benefiting from the extended choke system’s excellent gas sealing and pattern consistency. At the heart of the shotgun is Browning’s low-profile 725 action and a crisp single selective mechanical trigger, providing fast lock times and exceptional reliability. An adjustable raised rib, paired with a LitePipe green fiber optic front sight and mid bead, allows shooters to fine-tune their point of impact and maintain a consistent sight picture from station to station.

The highly adjustable stock is what truly sets the Trap Max apart. It features a Monte Carlo stock with a close-radius right-handed pistol grip and a fully adjustable comb to achieve a perfect cheek weld. At the rear, a Graco fully adjustable butt plate fitted with an XLT recoil pad and hydraulic recoil reducer allows the shotgun to be customized for length of pull, pitch, cast, and recoil management, making long days on the trap field noticeably more comfortable.
