Stock Configuration and Condition: The stocks are a two-piece checkered walnut set with a rounded semi-pistol grip, fluted straight comb, a black plastic Browning buttplate, and finger grooves running the length of the forend. The stocks have a few scattered light nicks, scuffs and scratches, nothing major for a field gun in our opinion. The most evident mark is on the face of the pistol grip that most hunters would ignore. The checkering is well-defined. There are no chips or cracks. The LOP measures 14.25? from the front of the trigger to the back of the buttplate. The plate has some stubborn dirt in the fine textured surface a a very light nick in the edge. No cracking or chips noticed. Overall, the stocks rate in Fine – Excellent condition.

Type of Finish: Blue

Finish Originality: Original

Bore Condition: The bore is bright and there is no erosion. Some fouling present that should swab out.

Overall Condition: This shotgun retains about 97% of its metal finish. The finish overall is strong. There are a few scratches in and through the finish on the sides of the receiver. Most are concentrated at the bolt release. There is one Oops scratch through the finish on the left side of the receiver just in front of the the “Light Twenty”. The rear of the receiver where the web of your hand sits and the underside of the receiver at the loading ramp have some light surface frosting as well. The screw heads are sharp with strong slots. The markings are clear. Overall, this shotgun rates is in Fine condition for a hunting shotgun.

Mechanics: The action functions correctly. There is a magazine cutoff on the left front of the receiver, a safety at the rear of the trigger guard and a bolt release on the right side of the receiver. We have not fired this shotgun. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.

Box, Paperwork, and Accessories: None

Our Assessment: It is hard to believe that this shotgun manufactured in 1992 was Patented 1900, and still being produced today. In 100 years there have been a few changes made. Most are material and finishing process, but you still have the same classic look and same operators manual. In our opinion you can’t find a more classic design to take on your next hunting trip and always a great reminder of those who taught us how to hunt.
