Markings: THe left side of the barrel is marked “.500 S&W MAGNUM  SPIKE DRIVER”.  The top tang is marked “BIG HORN ARMORY, INC / CODY WY, USA / MODEL 89”.  The bottom tang is marked “BHA0630”.  The rear sight is marked “ SKINNER”.

Barrel Length: 18” ROUND

Sights / Optics: The front sight is green fiber optic blade dovetailed to the barrel. The rear sight is Skinner aperture sight screwed to the top of the bolt.

Stock Configuration & Condition: The stock is a two piece checkered hard wood with a semi-pistol grip, straight comb, capped forend, and a rubber buttpad. There are light scratches and compression marks throughout.  The right side of the buttstock has white scuff marks at the bottom. The LOP measures 13 5/8” from the front of the trigger to the back of the buttpad. The stock rates in excellent  overall condition.

Finish Originality: Original

Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no erosion in the bore.  In the opinion of the writer the bore rates 9/10.

Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 99% of its metal finish. The balance of the finish shows operational and handling wear. There are light scratches and scuffs throughout. The screw heads are sharp. The pins are <unmarred. The markings are clear.   Overall, this rifle rates in about Excellent condition.

Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We did not fire this rifle. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance requirements.
