Action Type: Top-Break, Over/Under with Single Selective inertial trigger and Lifter.

Markings: The right and left side of the receiver is marked “PIETRO BERETTA / FOUNDED IN 1680  /  SILVER SNIPE 12 GAUGE”. The bottom of the receiver is marked “MADE IN ITALY  /  P.BERETTA”. The receiver cuts are marked “CAL .12” and “140041”. The receiver floor is marked with “PSF  PB FINITO” and several proofs. The forend iron is marked “140041”. The left side of the upper barrel is marked “HIGH STRENGTH CHROMIUM MOLYBDENUM STEEL-S-  /  MONOBLOC” and “P. BERETTA-GARDONE V.T.  /  CAL. 12-MADE IN ITALY”. The left side of the barrel set under the forend is marked “K  G” and a single star on each barrel . The bottom of the barrel set is marked “BT” and “PB  FINITO  XXIII S.55 PSF 140041” and a series of proofs. All sides of the receiver are beautifully engraved and the bottom of the receiver is engraved with an Angel.

Barrel Length: 30” Barrels with a low vented rib that has been serrated for glare reduction.

Choke: Fixed chokes Full over Full according to our Choke Gauge.

Sights / Optics: The front sight is a fixed silver bead mounted to the rib. There is also a silver mid-bead.

Stock Configuration & Condition: The stock is a two-piece checkered select walnut with a slender forend with inlay silver snipe medalion, the stock is a Monte Carlo stock with capped pistol grip, fluted raised comb and a wrapped buttpad. The checkering is well defined. There are no chips or cracks. The cast is slightly right hand and the LOP measures 14.25? from the front of the trigger to the back of the buttpad. The wrapped pad has light wear. The wood has very minimal scattered lines and depressions throughout. Overall the Stock and Forend are in Excellent Condition for C&R given their age.

Type of Finish: Blued and Matte Stainless

Finish Originality: Original.

Bore Condition:  The bores are bright. There is no erosion in the bores. In this writer’s opinion the bores rate 9/10.

Overall Condition: This shotgun retains approximately 98% of its metal finish. There is minor operational wear, mostly concealed while assembled. There are a few scattered minor marks on the barrel. The majority of wear is on the trigger guard and lever. The screw heads are sharp. The markings are clear. Overall, this shotgun is in Excellent condition for C&R given its age.

Mechanics: The action functions correctly including the lifter. The action locks up tight with no play. The safety/selector does not set automatically but functions properly when set manually. We have not fired this shotgun. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.
