Markings: The left of the slide is marked “BERETTA / GARDONE V.T. – MADE IN ITALY” with Beretta’s logo and behind the serrations with “Y005333X / IT23”. The left of the frame is marked “FIRES WITHOUT MAGAZINE” and “Y005333X”. The right of the slide is marked “80X / CHEETAH”, “BERETTA USA CORP. / ACCOKEEK, MD” and behind the serrations with an Italian proof. The right of the frmae has Italian proofs and a reminder to read the manual. The left of the barrel is marked “Y005333X”, the right “PB-CAL. 9 Short / 380 Auto”.

Sights / Optics: The front sight is a blade with a white dot dovetailed to the slide. The rear sight is a flat top, square notch integral to the cover plate screwed to the top of the slide. The cover plate can be removed and adapter plates installed for mounting an optical sight (none present).
Stock Configuration & Condition: The grips are two-piece textured black synthetic panels with Beretta logos and “80X / CHEETAH” on each panel. The grips have no notable wear or damage, only light handling marks.
Type of Finish: The slide has an Aqua Tech Shield coating (black), the frame is anodized Bronze (feature of the Launch Edition).
Finish Originality: Original
Bore Condition: The bore is bright, the rifling is sharp. There is no erosion in the bore. In this writer’s opinion, the bore rates 10 out of 10.
Overall Condition: This handgun retains about 99% of its metal finish. There is no notable wear or damage, only light handling marks. The screw heads are sharp. The markings are clear. Overall, this pistol is in Excellent condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We did not fire this handgun. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.
Box, Paperwork & Accessories: This pistol comes with a combination-locking Beretta Launch Edition leather-bound hard case, white cardboard sleeve with serial-matching label and a total of two 13-round magazines.
Our Assessment: Beretta has been around about as long as guns have, but that doesn’t mean they’re stuck in the past. The 80X Cheetah is a massive upgrade over the previous 84 line. It features better texturing in its Vertec grip frame, forward slide serrations, optics-ready slide, picatinny rail on the dust cover for mounting accessories, and more aggressive texturing in the grip straps. The Launch Edition is further embellished with an attractive bronze finish on the frame and comes with a nice leather-bound carry case. This example is in Excellent condition, appearing to have seen little if any use. It will make a great little shooter, but would also be a good add to a Beretta collection.
