Markings: The right and left side of the receiver is marked “P.BERETTA TRAP – MODEL”. The bottom of the receiver is marked “MARK II P.BERETTA”. The receiver cut is marked “U00623”. The receiver floor is marked with “FINITO”. The rubber buttpad is marked “P.BERETTA MADE IN ITALY” and “. The forend iron is marked “U00623”. The left side of the upper barrel is marked “HIGH STRENGTH CHROMIUM MOLYBDENUM STEEL-SS-  12 GA. 2 ¾ IN -34 INCHES F”. The bottom of the barrel is marked “KG1.779  18.4  CAM. 70” and “PB  FINITO PSF XXV8 U00623  /  MADE IN ITALY” and a series of proofs. The right side of the upper barrel is marked “P. BERETTA-GARDONE V.T.  /  MADE IN ITALY  GARCIA SPORTING ARMS. WASH, D.C.”. All sides of the receiver are beautifully engraved with floral engraving and an Angel.

Barrel Length: 34” heavy profile ported Barrel with vented rib that has been serrated for glare reduction.

Choke: Fixed Full Choke.

Sights / Optics: The front sight is a fixed silver bead mounted to the rib. There is also a silver mid-bead.

Stock Configuration & Condition: The stock is a two-piece checkered select walnut with a wide forend, the stock is a Monte Carlo stock with capped pistol grip, fluted raised comb with vented rubber buttpad. The checkering is well defined. There is an extremely  small chip on the left side of the forend and there are no cracks. The cast is slightly right hand and the LOP measures 14.25? from the front of the trigger to the back of the buttpad. The pad is cracking from age but it is still supple. The wood has scattered lines, depressions and minimal light scratches throughout. Overall the Stock and Forend are in Very Good Condition for C&R given their age.

Type of Finish: Blued.

Finish Originality: Original.

Bore Condition:  The bore is bright. There is no erosion in the bore. In this writer’s opinion the bore rates 9/10. There is some stubborn fouling present in the bore but it should be easily removed with a proper cleaning.

Overall Condition: This shotgun retains approximately 98% of its metal finish. There is minor operational wear, mostly concealed while assembled. There are a few scattered minor marks. The majority of wear is on the trigger guard and lever. The screw heads are sharp. The markings are clear. Overall, this shotgun is in Very Good to Excellent condition for C&R given its age.

Mechanics: The action functions correctly including the lifter. The action locks up tight with no play. There is no manual safety however the action has a unique two stage closure that acts as a safety. We have not fired this shotgun. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.
