Our Assessment: The Beretta A400 Xcel Sporting in 12 gauge is a high-performance semi-automatic shotgun designed for competitive clay shooting and sporting applications. Its 28-inch barrel provides an excellent balance for accuracy and maneuverability, making it ideal for sporting clays, skeet, and trap shooting. The barrel is optimized for consistent shot patterns and is compatible with Beretta Optima HP choke tubes, allowing shooters to fine-tune their shot spread for different distances and targets. A standout feature of this shotgun is the Kick-Off system integrated into the wood stock, which reduces recoil by using hydraulic dampeners. This system makes follow-up shots faster and more comfortable, especially during long sessions or when shooting heavier 12-gauge loads. The reduced recoil aids in maintaining control and accuracy, offering both performance and comfort for the shooter. The blue anodized receiver adds a modern aesthetic and durability to the shotgun, enhancing its appearance while providing wear resistance. Paired with the smoothest-operating gas system, recoil reduction technology, and versatile Optima HP chokes, the A400 Xcel Sporting is the top-tier choice for semi auto shotguns for competitive shooters seeking both functionality and distinctive style.
