Stock Configuration & Condition: The stock is two piece checkered synthetic with a semi pistol grip, straight comb, and rubber buttpad. The LOP is 14 1/4″ from trigger to recoil pad. There is light handling wear. There are no chips or cracks. Overall this stock is in about Excellent condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright. There is no erosion. There is light fouling. In this writer’s opinion this bore rates 9.5 out of 10.

Overall Condition: This shotgun retains about 98% of its original finish. There is very  light handling and operational wear. There are a few light scratches. The pins are unmarred. The markings are clear. Overall this shotgun is in about Excellent condition. 

Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We did not fire this shotgun. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance requirements.

Our Assessment:  The Benelli Super Black Eagle III is the modern evolution of Benelli’s renowned inertia-operated hunting shotgun, and the 3″ 28-gauge version was introduced for 2022 as a lightweight sub-gauge option for waterfowl and upland hunting. The 28-gauge SBE3 incorporates Benelli’s Inertia Driven operating system, Crio-treated barrel and choke system, Comfort Tech 3 stock, oversized controls, carbon-fiber rib, and red fiber-optic front sight. This black synthetic example is fitted with the nominal 28″ barrel and includes the full set of five Benelli Crio chokes along with additional Briley Light Modified and Skeet tubes.

This shotgun remains in Excellent condition, retaining approximately 98% of its original finish with only very light handling and operational wear and a few minor scratches. The synthetic furniture is likewise in Excellent condition with light handling wear and no chips or cracks. The bore is bright with no visible erosion and only light fouling, rating 9.5/10 in this writer’s opinion. The action functions correctly, though we did not fire this shotgun. It includes its factory box, Benelli oil, five Benelli Crio chokes, and two Briley chokes, with the Briley Light Modified currently installed.
