Sights / Optics: The front sight is a ramped blade fixed to the front of the slide. The rear sight is a square notch dovetailed to the rear of the slide.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The grips are two-piece faux-ivory panels etched with the Mexican eagle and themed designs. The grips have no notable wear or damage, only light handling marks. There are no chips or cracks. Overall, the grips are in Excellent condition.
Also included is a set of two-piece double-diamond checkered wood panels. The additional grips have only a few small marks. The checkering is well defined. There are no chips or cracks. The right panel has a relief cut for an ambidextrous safety (the pistol does not have an ambi safety). Overall, the additional grips are in Fine-Excellent condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no erosion in the bore. In this writer’s opinion, the bore rates 10 out of 10.
Overall Condition: This pistol retains about 99% of its metal finish. There is no notable wear or damage, only light handling marks. The screw heads are sharp. The markings are clear. Overall, this pistol is in Excellent condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. The slide has minor play to the frame. The trigger is crisp. This pistol was made without a firing pin block safety. We did not fire this pistol. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.
Box, Paperwork & Accessories: This pistol comes in a Colt branded Gemstar carry case with factory custom cut foam inserts, a single 9-round magazine, the additional grips described above, and an assortment of paperwork including manual and Davidson’s certificate of authenticity.
Our Assessment: Produced as a limited edition exclusively for Davidson’s, this is one of five hundred “Bandera de Mexico” (Flag of Mexico) Government Models produced by Colt. Chambered for .38 Super and decorated profusely with Mexican iconography, most notably with eagles holding snakes, it is a beautiful tribute to the heritage of Mexico. The pistol is in Excellent condition, appearing to have spent more time in the included case than out. This will make a wonderful addition to any collection, whether you’re interested in Colts, 1911s, or if you just want to represent La Patria. Please see our photos and good luck!
