Stock Configuration & Condition: The stocks are a two piece checkered walnut with a checkered forend, straight grip, straight comb, and checkered buttstock. There is a natural cast. There are scratches and compression marks. The checkering is sharp. There is a very light crack expanding from the upper tang. There are no chips. The LOP measures 14 5/8″ from the front trigger and 13 5/8″ from the rear trigger to the rear of the buttstock. Overall, the stocks are in about Very Good condition.

Finish Originality: Refinished.
Bore Condition: The bores are bright. There is no erosion in the bore. There are fouling streaks in the bore. In this writer’s opinion the bores rates at a 9 out of 10.
Overall Condition: This shotgun retains about 97% of its metal finish. The balance of the finish shows light handling wear. There are a few light scratches and spots of patina throughout. Most of the patina is along the rib. The case color is vibrant. The screw heads are sharp. The markings are clear. Overall, this shotgun rates in about Very Good – Fine condition.
Mechanics: The action functions properly including ejectors. The barrels lock up to the frame with no play. The safety engages automatically when the action is opened. We have not fired this shotgun. As with all used firearms, cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.

Our Assessment: Aguirre y Aranzabal has produced sporting shotguns in Eibar, Spain, since 1915 and is known for traditional hand-fitted side-by-side doubles in both boxlock and sidelock configurations. This 12-gauge boxlock combines ejectors, double triggers, 28″ barrels, fixed Cylinder and Modified chokes, a straight-grip walnut stock, and a lightweight 6.8-pound field configuration. Its traditional handling characteristics and Spanish gunmaking heritage give it appeal among collectors of European sporting arms and classic upland doubles.
This shotgun is in about Very Good-Fine condition overall as refinished and retains about 97% of its refinished blued and case-colored finish, with light scratches and scattered patina concentrated primarily along the rib. The two-piece checkered walnut stocks rate in about Very Good condition, showing scratches, compression marks, and a light crack extending from the upper tang without chips; the checkering remains sharp. The bores are bright with no erosion and fouling streaks present; in this writer’s opinion, the bores rate 9 out of 10. The action and ejectors function correctly, the automatic safety engages when the action is opened, and the barrels lock tightly to the frame without play.
