Our Assessment: It’s extremely difficult to have a conversation about pocket pistols without mentioning the infamous Derringer. This pistol is a fairly unique design and played an important role in the evolution of pocket pistols. The concept of the Derringer pistol originated in the 1850’s with the muzzle loading single shot flintlock pistol Philadelphia Deringer. Over time the Deringer became a common term for any non repeating pocket pistol. With the Derringer, you get as many shots as you get barrels. Some have 2, 3, or 4 like the Duckfoot Derringer. In this case, we have two before it needs to be reloaded. Throughout the early 1900’s these were the go to for concealed carry as they were light and revolutionary in design. Use this lightweight pistol for snakes, use it for survival with small game, make this a wonderful self defense weapon especially packing the 3 inch .410. Great carry for a deep pocket or pack on the trails and would look great on the mantel after the day is done. Good luck!
