Our Assessment:   The Aero Precision M5 is a rifle platform based on the AR-10 (Armalite Rifle-10) design. The AR-10 is a 7.62mm NATO caliber, semi-automatic rifle that was originally developed by Armalite in the 1950s. The Aero Precision M5 is a modernized version of the classic AR-10 design, featuring updated materials and manufacturing techniques.

Markings: The right side of the magwell is marked, “AERO PRECISION LLC TACOMA, WA MODEL M5 CAL MULTI S/N US16005”.  The left side of the magwell is marked with the AERO precision logo.  The safety is marked with bullet diagrams.  The left side of the scope is marked, “OSPREY GLOBAL SD3-12X44 MDG”.  The BCG has an Aero Precision Logo.

Sights / Optics:  The top of this rifle is a full length monolithic uninterrupted picatinny rail for all your favorite sights and optics.  The picatinny is currently fitted with an OSPREY Global SD3-12X44 MDG Scope.  The sight picture is clear.  MilDot Glass Etched Reticle, 3-12 Magnification, water proof, shock proof, Fog Proof Lense.  This scope has a lifetime warranty.

Stock Configuration & Condition: The buttstock is an A2 fixed polymer stock with a trap door in the polymer buttplate for storage. The pistol grip is a textured ergonomic polymer grip checkered and serrated backstrap.  The handguard is a 12” Quad Rail Picatinny System for all your favorite attachments and accessories.  The Gas block also features a quad rail picatinny system for further customization options.  The bottom picatinny is mounted with an adjustable bipod.  The LOP measures 14.25” from the front of the trigger to the back of the buttplate.  The stock rates in about Excellent overall condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no visible erosion in the bore.

Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 99% of its metal finish. The screw heads are sharp. The markings are clear. Overall, this rifle rates in about Fine Plus condition. There are some light scratches on the left and right side of the upper receiver.  There is a small scuff on the left side of the charging handle.  The barrel has some light scratches.  The trigger is crisp, the action is smooth.  The bipod’s Mechanics are clean and tight.

Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We did not fire this rifle. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance requirements.
