Action Type: Box-Lock Break-Open Side by Side Double Shotgun with Extractors.
Markings: The bottom of the frame is marked, “255150” along with patent dates. The tang is marked with “SAFE” The sides of the action are marked, “STERLINGWORTH” along with engravings. The barrels are marked with the serial and, “20 GA” on the underside. The top of the barrels are marked, “STERLINGWORTH FLUID COMPRESSED STEEL / MADE BY A.H. FOX GUN CO. PHILA.PA.U.S.A.” The serial is marked under the trigger guard.
Barrel Length: 26”.
Choke: Fixed Full, Modified.
Sights / Optics: The front sight is a silver bead set on top of the serrated rib.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The stocks are two piece checkered walnut with a capped semi-pistol grip, straight comb, splinter forend, and serrated plastic buttplate. There are only minor pressure dents and faint scratches. The checkering is very sharp. There are no chips or cracks. The LOP measures 15″ from the front of the trigger to the rear of the buttplate. Overall the stocks are in Excellent condition.
Type of Finish: Blued, Case Hardened.
Finish Originality: Refinished.
Bore Condition: Both bores are bright with some very faint scratch lines. There is no erosion. In this writer’s opinion, the bores rate at a 9/10.
Overall Condition: This shotgun retains about 98% of its metal finish. There is some thinning and minor scratches on the barrel, the rib has some wear on the sides. The action has light operational wear. The screw heads and pins are undamaged. Overall, this shotgun is in Excellent condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We have not fired this shotgun. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.

Our Assessment: The A.H. Fox Sterlingworth Side By Side 20GA Shotgun is a classic American double-barreled shotgun produced by the A.H. Fox Gun Company. It was introduced in the early 20th century and quickly gained popularity among hunters, sportsmen, and collectors for its quality craftsmanship and reliable performance. This particular shotgun has been completely refinished with very fine case color and rebluing. The action seems lightly used, and the walnut stock looks fantastic.
