Overall, this carbine is in Good condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We did not fire this carbine. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance requirements.
Box, Paperwork & Accessories: None
Our Assessment: John Browning’s Model 1892 was a scaled-down version of his Model 1886, built around the popular pistol cartridges of the day, and it became one of Winchester’s most successful lever actions with more than a million made. Its saddle ring carbine version, chambered for the .44 WCF, was a favorite of ranchers and lawmen who could share ammunition between rifle and revolver.
This 1919 receiver has been modified to accept a modern Winchester Model 94 AE barrel in .44-40 and wears a modern stock, giving it a mirror bright 10/10 bore while keeping the original 1892 receiver, tang markings and saddle ring. The receiver and magazine tube show about 20% blue against a 99% modern barrel. It is a shootable classic for a lever action fan who wants the 1892 action with a fresh bore.-C.M.
