Sights / Optics: The front sight is a ramped blade with a serrated orange insert atop the rib. The rear sight is a square notch and is adjustable for windage and elevation. The top of the barrel rib and the top strap have a matte finish to reduce glare.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The grips are two-piece checkered walnut with Colt medallions. There is little to no handling wear or marks. The checkering remains sharp. There are no chips or cracks. Overall, the grips rate in about Excellent condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no erosion. There is light fouling. In this writer’s opinion, the bore rates 9/10.
Overall Condition: This revolver’s stainless finish shows little to no handling wear. There is minor handling and storage wear. The screw heads are sharp. The markings are legible. Overall, this gun rates in Excellent condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. The cylinder lock up is tight with no play. We have not fired this revolver. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.

Our Assessment: The Colt Python occupies a special place among American double-action revolvers, having been introduced in 1955 as Colt’s premium .357 Magnum and earning a reputation for its distinctive ventilated rib, full-length underlug, refined action, excellent accuracy, and high level of finish. After the original Python was discontinued, Colt revived the model in 2020 with a redesigned and strengthened stainless-steel action while retaining the visual character of the classic revolver. The modern Python incorporated a substantially reinforced topstrap, simplified lockwork, interchangeable front sight, and contemporary stainless construction. This 2021 example comes from the early years of the revived Python and retains the classic 6″ configuration that has long been closely associated with the model.
This Python remains in Excellent condition, with its semi-bright stainless surfaces showing little more than minor handling and storage wear. The checkered walnut stocks remain equally strong with sharp checkering and no chips or cracks, while the bright 9/10 bore retains sharp rifling with no erosion and only light fouling. Mechanically, the revolver remains excellent with proper double- and single-action operation and tight cylinder lockup showing no play. The serial-matching Colt case and paperwork further enhance the completeness of this clean early-production example of the modern Python.
