Our Assessment: This Heckler & Koch USP Compact was manufactured in 2006 and is chambered in .40 S&W, combining the USP’s proven durability with a compact frame suited to concealed carry and general-purpose use. The USP Compact was developed as a more concealable version of the full-size USP while retaining the robust construction and controls that made the platform popular with military, law enforcement, and civilian shooters. This example features HK’s LEM (Law Enforcement Modification) trigger system, which provides a consistent double-action-style trigger pull eliminating the DA/SA transition.
This pistol is configured without a manual safety or de-cocker, giving it a streamlined control layout centered around the LEM system. The combination of the compact USP frame, .40 S&W chambering, and LEM trigger makes this an excellent example of the versatility HK built into the USP family.
