Our Assessment: The CZ 527 Varmint is a Czech bolt-action rifle built around CZ’s small Mauser-style action and designed with an emphasis on precision varmint shooting. This 2004 example is chambered in .17 Remington and features a 24″ heavy-contour barrel, detachable five-round magazine, grooved receiver, Turkish walnut stock, and set trigger. The .17 Remington is a high-velocity small-caliber cartridge well suited for varmints and predators, where its flat trajectory and light recoil are particularly useful.
This rifle is in Fine condition overall, retaining about 98% of its original blue finish with only minor wear on the rear receiver dovetail. The checkered Turkish walnut stock also rates in Fine condition with a few light scratches and compressions, well-defined checkering, and no chips or cracks. The bore is bright with sharp rifling and no erosion, rating 10/10, while the action functions correctly and the set trigger has a light, crisp, clean break. It includes an Excellent-condition factory five-round magazine. Please see our photos for a better understanding of the condition and good luck with your bids! – J.D.
