Markings: The right side of the frame is marked “816-08215”. The left side of the frame is marked “RUGER .327 FED MAG / NEW MODEL SINGLE-SEVEN”. The barrel is marked with the Ruger Newport address.

Sights / Optics: The front sight is an aftermarket tall serrated black blade screwed to the barrel. The rear sight is a drift adjustable square notch set into a base pinned to the topstrap.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The Bisley grips are two piece, smooth rosewood panels with silver Ruger phoenix medallions inset on both sides. There are faint scratches and pressure dents. Overall the grips are in Very Good to Excellent condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no visible erosion in the bore. In this writer’s opinion the bore rates 9.5/10.
Overall Condition: This revolver retains about 99% of its finish. There is a faint turn line on the cylinder. There are faint handling marks throughout. The screw heads are sharp and the pins are undamaged. The markings are clear. Overall, this handgun rates in about Excellent condition.
Mechanics: The action functions as intended. We did not fire this handgun. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance requirements.

Our Assessment: The Ruger Single-Seven is a modern development of the company’s classic small-frame single-action revolver, built around the New Model action and chambered for the high-performance .327 Federal Magnum cartridge. The seven-shot cylinder gives the revolver greater capacity than a traditional sixgun while retaining compact dimensions and familiar single-action handling. This Bisley configuration adds the distinctive Bisley grip frame and grip profile, making it especially well suited to deliberate target shooting and field use. This 2017-production example also comes from the John Taffin Collection, adding desirable provenance to an already distinctive Ruger configuration.
This revolver remains in Excellent condition, retaining approximately 99% of its original blued finish. The metal surfaces show only faint handling marks and a light cylinder turn line, while the screw heads remain sharp, the pins are undamaged, and the markings are clear. The bore is bright with sharp rifling and no visible erosion, rating 9.5/10 in this writer’s opinion. The smooth rosewood Bisley grips show faint scratches and pressure dents but remain free of chips and cracks, rating in Very Good to Excellent condition. The tall aftermarket front sight is a notable modification, while the rest of the revolver remains in strong original condition.
