Markings: The left side of the barrel is marked “COLT OFFICERS MODEL 32” / “HEAVY BARREL”. The top of the barrel is marked “COLT’S PT. F.A. MFG. CO. HARTFORD, CT. U.S.A.” / “PAT’D AUG. 5, 1884. JULY 4, 1905. OCT. 5. 1926.”. The left side of the frame is marked with a Rampant Colt. The crane and crane cut are marked with the serial number.
Barrel Length: 6″
Sights/Optics: The front sight is a blade pinned to a base fixed to the barrel. The rear sight is an adjustable square notch target sight dovetailed to the topstrap. The topstrap has a matte finish for glare reduction.
Stock Configuration and Condition: The grips are two-piece checkered walnut panels with silver Colt medallions at the top. There is light handling wear. There is verdigris around the brass escutcheons. The checkering remains sharp with minor peak wear. There are no chips or cracks. Overall, the grips rate in Very Good-Fine condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no erosion in the bore. In this writer’s opinion, the bore rates 9/10.
Overall Condition: This handgun retains about 96% of its metal finish. There is light finish loss at the muzzle, and leading edges of the frame and cylinder. There are scattered scratches and scuffs. There is oxidation freckling along the barrel, frame, and frontstrap. The screw heads are sharp. The pins are unmarred. Overall, this revolver rates in Fine condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. The lockup is tight with minor play at each chamber. We did not fire this revolver, but we did perform a mechanic’s check. As with all used firearms, thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.

Our Assessment: The Colt Officers Model was one of the company’s premier target revolvers of the early 20th century, developed for precision shooting and formal competition. The heavy-barrel variants combined Colt’s finely fitted double-action lockwork with a substantial 6″ barrel, adjustable target sights, and carefully finished walnut stocks to create a stable and accurate target platform. Chambered for .32 Colt New Police, which is dimensionally equivalent to .32 S&W Long, this configuration offered mild recoil and excellent target-shooting characteristics. This 1941 example represents late prewar production and retains the classic heavy-barrel configuration associated with Colt’s refined target revolvers of the period.
This Officers Model retains approximately 96% of its original blue finish, with light muzzle and edge wear, scattered scratches and scuffs, and oxidation freckling along the barrel, frame, and frontstrap. The checkered walnut grips remain in Very Good-Fine condition, with sharp checkering, only minor peak wear, and some verdigris around the escutcheons. The bright 9/10 bore has sharp rifling and no visible erosion. The action functions correctly with tight lockup and only minor play at each chamber.
