Markings: The top of the barrel is marked with Ruger’s 2-line warning & address. The left side of the barrel is marked “.25-06”. The left side of the receiver is marked with the serial number, and “RUGER M77”.
Barrel Length: 24″ Medium Contour.
Sights / Optics: There are no provisions for iron sights. The top of the receiver is mounted with a Burris Signature 3-9x scope, with a duplex reticle. The glass in the scope is clear. The scope shows light handling wear. Overall, the scope rates in Very Good to Fine condition. The scope is mounted directly to the receiver by 1″ Ruger rings.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The stock is a one-piece checkered walnut stock, with a capped semi-pistol grip, fluted straight comb, black rubber Ruger buttpad, a checkered forend, and sling studs front and rear. The LOP measures 13 5/8″ from the front of the trigger to the back of the buttpad. The stock shows light handling wear, with a few light scratches and compressions throughout. The checkering is well defined, and the stock’s finish is intact. The stock fits tightly to the barreled action, with no play. There are no chips or cracks. Overall, the stock rates in Very Good to Fine condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright with sharp rifling. There is no erosion in the bore, but there is some light fouling present. In this writer’s opinion, the bore rates 9.75/10.
Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 98% of its original metal finish. The balance of the finish shows light wear, with a couple spots of minor thinning finish on the top of the barrel, one minor ding in the trigger guard, and light operational marks on the bolt. The blued finish is intact, otherwise. The markings are clear and legible. The screw heads are sharp. Overall, this rifle rates in Very Good to Fine condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly, as does the safety. We did not fire this rifle, but we did perform a mechanic’s check. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance requirements.

Our Assessment: The Ruger M77 is a classic American bolt-action sporting rifle known for its robust construction, integral scope-mounting system, and dependable field performance. This 1991 example is chambered in .25-06 Remington and features a 24″ medium-contour barrel, checkered walnut stock, hinged floorplate, and Ruger integral scope-ring system. The .25-06 Remington is a flat-shooting cartridge well suited for deer, antelope, and varmint hunting, while the included Burris Signature 3-9x scope provides a practical hunting setup that complements the rifle’s traditional sporting configuration.
This rifle is in Very Good to Fine condition overall, retaining about 98% of its original blue finish with only light thinning on the barrel, a minor ding on the trigger guard, and light operational wear on the bolt. The checkered walnut stock remains in Very Good to Fine condition with scattered light scratches and compressions, an intact finish, and no chips or cracks. The bore is bright with sharp rifling and light fouling, rating 9.75/10, while the action and safety function correctly. The included Burris Signature 3-9x scope has clear glass and remains in Very Good to Fine condition, making this a well-preserved and ready-to-use sporting rifle.
