Our Assessment: The Browning Hi-Power is one of the most influential service-pistol designs of the 20th century, originating with John Moses Browning and completed after his death by FN designer Dieudonné Saive. The familiar single-action, high-capacity design became one of the most widely adopted military and police pistols of its era. Browning’s .40 S&W version is a substantially less common variation of the classic Hi-Power and used the “2W5” model code in Browning’s serialization system.
This example is in Excellent overall condition, retaining about 99% of its original blued finish. The checkered hardwood grip panels remain in Excellent condition, and the bore is bright with sharp rifling. The action functions correctly.
