Markings: The left side of the barrel is etched “COLT FRONTIER SIX SHOOTER”. The top of the barrel is marked “COLT’S PT. F.A. MFG. CO. HARTFORD, CT. U.S.A.”. The left side of the frame is marked “PAT. SEPT. 19, 1871” / “” JULY. 2,–72.” / “” JAN. 19, –75.”. The bottom of the frame is marked with the serial number. The loading gate arm and the face of the cylinder are marked with “973”. The rear of the cylinder is marked with “.44-40”.

Sights / Optics: The front sight is a quarter round blade fixed to the barrel. The rear sight is a square notch in the top strap which is visible when cocked.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The grips are two-piece black checkered panels with eagle and shield motif and Rampant Colt logo at the top. There are abrasions on the bottom edges of the panels under the eagle motif. There is minor handling wear. The checkering remains sharp and defined. There are no chips or cracks. Overall, the grips are in Fine condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no erosion in the bore. In this writer’s opinion the bore rates 9.5/10.
Overall Condition: This revolver retains about 97% of its metal finish. There is some clouding in the finish. There is a small abrasion at the left side of the muzzle. There are spots of oxidation on the cylinder. There are a few minor scratches along the grip straps. The case-color is vibrant. The screw heads are sharp. The markings are clear. Overall, this revolver is in Very Good-Fine condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. The lockup is tight at each chamber. We did not fire this revolver. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.

This 2008 Frontier Six Shooter retains approximately 97% of its original finish, with only minor clouding, light oxidation on the cylinder, a small abrasion at the muzzle, and a few scratches on the grip straps. The checkered black stocks remain in Fine condition despite light edge wear, while the bright 9.5/10 bore retains sharp rifling with no visible erosion.
