Sights / Optics:  The front sight is a white bead fixed to the vent rib at the muzzle.  There is a smaller, silver colored mid barrel bead.

Stock Configuration & Condition:  The stocks are two piece walnut with a capped pistol grip, fluted straight comb, black Remington corrugated plastic buttpad, and a finger shelf on the pump grip.  There are a very few scratches and compression marks throughout.  There are no chips, cracks, or areas of finish loss. The LOP measures 13 7/8″ from the front of the trigger to the back of the buttpad. The stocks rate an Excellent overall condition.

Bore Condition:  The bore is mirror bright.  In this writer’s opinion the bore rates 10 out of 10.

Overall Condition:  This shotgun retains about 99% of its metal finish. The balance of the finish shows almost no handling and storage wear.  The barrel has faded slightly toward a plum patina.  There is very minor corrosion where receiver meets mag tube.  The pins are unmarred.  The markings are clear.  Overall, this shotgun rates an Excellent condition.

Mechanics:  The action functions correctly.  We have not fired this shotgun. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.

Our Assessment: The Remington 870 Wingmaster is one of America’s classic pump-action shotguns, known for its smooth action, steel receiver, polished blued finish, and long-standing reputation in the field.  This example is a left-handed Wingmaster made in 1980 and identified by the “CA” barrel code and chambered for .410 Bore 3″ shells.  It is configured with a 25” vent-rib barrel, a fixed Skeet choke, and a white bead front sight and mid-barrel sight.

This 870 Wingmaster is in Excellent condition overall, retaining about 99% of its blued metal finish with very minimal handling and storage wear. The walnut stocks rate an Excellent condition.  The action functions correctly, the pins are unmarred, and the markings are clear.
