Sights / Optics: The front sight is a beaded blade dovetailed into the barrel. The rear sight is a flip up adjustable U-notch sight dovetailed to the barrel. The top of the barrel is drilled and tapped for sights.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The stocks are two piece checkered and polished high grade walnut with serrated buttplate, semi-pistol grip, fluted straight comb, and checkered forend. There is a small lever at the bottom front of the receiver to takedown the rifle. The LOP measures 13.75″ from the front of the trigger to the back of the buttplate. The stock shows little to no wear. There are faint scratches and compression marks. The checkering is sharp, and the stocks fit the frame with no play. There are no chips or cracks. Overall, the stocks rate in about Excellent condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no erosion in the bore. There is light fouling in the grooves. In this writer’s opinion, the bore rates 9.5 out of 10.
Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 98% of its original metal finish. The balance of the finish shows little to no wear. There are a few light scratches throughout. The markings are clear and legible. The screw heads are sharp. Overall, this rifle rates in about Excellent condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly, as does the cross-bolt safety. The trigger has a crisp and clean break. We did not fire this rifle, but we did perform a mechanic’s check. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance requirements.

Our Assessment: The Browning SA-22 Grade VI Grayed is a premium takedown semi-automatic rimfire rifle made by Miroku in Japan and chambered in .22 Long Rifle. Browning lists the Grade VI Grayed with a satin gray receiver, gold-enhanced scroll engraving, gold-colored trigger, polished blued barrel, Grade III/IV walnut, bottom ejection, and a buttstock tubular magazine, all matching the high-grade SA-22 configuration described here. This example is configured with a 19.25” barrel, takedown action, bottom ejection, buttstock magazine, beaded blade front sight, flip-up adjustable U-notch rear sight, drilled and tapped barrel for sights/optics, and two-piece checkered high-grade walnut furniture with semi-pistol grip, fluted straight comb, and serrated buttplate.
This SA-22 Grade VI is in Excellent condition overall, retaining about 98% of its original metal finish with little to no wear and only a few light scratches throughout. The polished high-grade walnut stocks also rate in Excellent condition, showing little to no wear with only faint scratches and compression marks, sharp checkering, tight fit to the frame, and no chips or cracks. The bore is bright with sharp rifling, no erosion, and light fouling in the grooves, rating 9.5 out of 10 in this writer’s opinion. The action functions correctly, the cross-bolt safety functions properly, and the trigger has a crisp, clean break. This rifle should appeal to Browning collectors, SA-22 enthusiasts, rimfire collectors, and shooters looking for a high-grade Miroku-made takedown .22 with Grade VI engraving, strong bore condition, and excellent presentation.
