Sights / Optics:  There is a white bead at the muzzle fixed to the serrated barrel rib. 

Stock Configuration & Condition:  The stocks are two piece checkered walnut with semi-pistol grip, vented rubber buttpad, and beavertail forend. There are scratches and compression marks throughout. There are chips in the checkering on the semi pistol grip and forend. There are no cracks. The LOP measures 14 1/8″ from the front trigger and 13 1/8″ from the rear trigger to the rear of the buttpad. Overall the stocks are in about Good – Very Good condition.

Finish Originality: Original 

Bore Condition:  The bores are mirror bright. There is no erosion. There is fouling in the bore. In this writer’s opinion the bores rate 8 out of 10.

Overall Condition: This shotgun retains about 96% of its metal finish. The balance of the finish shows handling and storage wear. There are scratches and thinning on the muzzle. There are spots of surface rust forming on the barrel and receiver. The markings are clear, the screw heads are sharp. Overall, this shotgun is in about Good Plus condition.

Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We have not fired this shotgun. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.

Assessment: The Stoeger Zephyr No. 6HG is a substantial Spanish sporting double manufactured by Victor Sarasqueta and imported and marketed in the United States by Stoeger. Surviving No. 6HG examples are documented as true sidelock shotguns with double triggers, extractors, long barrels, and heavily built 10-gauge configurations intended for demanding waterfowl use. This example’s 31.75″ barrels, fixed Full chokes, beavertail forend, and coin-finished action give it considerable appeal among collectors of Spanish doubles and vintage large-bore sporting shotguns.

This shotgun is in about Good Plus condition overall and retains about 96% of its original blued and coin-finished metal surfaces, with scratches, muzzle thinning, and spots of surface rust forming on the barrels and receiver. The two-piece checkered walnut stocks rate in about Good-Very Good condition, showing scratches, compression marks, and chipped checkering peaks without cracks. The bores are mirror-bright with no erosion and fouling present; in this writer’s opinion, the bores rate 8 out of 10. The action functions correctly.
