Sights / Optics: The front sight is a Bradley style white bead fixed to the rib. There is also a small white mid bead. The rib has checkering for glare reduction.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The furniture is a two-piece checkered walnut set. The stock is a Prince of Wales grip with fluted straight comb, and a Pachmayr butt pad. The forend is a full finger shelf Superposed non removable forend. The length of pull is 14 3/8ths”, the drop at comb is 1.5″ and the drop at heel is 1.75″. The shotgun weighs 7lbs 15 OZ. This appears to be a replacement stock set with higher grade wood than would have normally come on a skeet model. The stock was at one point cut down and then an extension was added to the wood. The grip of the stock is also smaller in diameter than a normal Browning Prince of Wales stock. The wood shows minor scattered lines and very small compressions. The nose of the forend shows a crack. Also the top of the wrist behind the upper tang shows a small crack. There are some very small chips missing from the edges of where the wood was fitted to the receiver. Overall, the furniture is in about Good condition.
Type of Finish: Blue
Finish Originality: Original.
Bore Condition: The smooth bores are very bright showing no erosion or pitting. The bores show very minor lines and barely visible plastic fouling. In this writer’s opinion the bores rate 9.25/10.
Overall Condition: This shotgun retains about 97% of its metal finish. The bottom edges of the receiver, the trigger and the trigger guard show the majority of the finish loss. The barrels and receiver have some minor scattered marks. The bottom barrel has the signature superposed rub mark from the forend. The inside of the action shows rub wear from use. There is rub wear under the safety. The pins are un-marred. Overall, this shotgun is in about Good+-Very Good condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly including the ejectors. The shotgun features a single selective trigger. The forend is the Browning Non removable style forend. There is zero movement between the barrels and frame. The safety does NOT set automatically when the action is opened but functions properly when manually set. We have not fired this shotgun. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.

Our Assessment: This Browning Superposed Skeet was manufactured in Belgium in 1958 and is an excellent example of John M. Browning’s final firearm design. Built as a dedicated Skeet model, it features 28-inch barrels chambered in 12 gauge with fixed Skeet over Skeet chokes, making it ideally suited for the fast, close-range targets encountered on the skeet field. The shotgun is fitted with a Bradley-style white bead front sight and a mid bead for a clean, consistent sight picture. Hand-built by FN in Liège, the Superposed earned a legendary reputation for its superb craftsmanship, exceptional balance, and durability, and it remains one of the most collectible production over-under shotguns ever made.
This example appears to have been fitted with a replacement stock set featuring higher-grade walnut than would have originally been found on a standard Skeet model, giving the shotgun a more elegant appearance with beautifully figured wood. At some point the stock was shortened and later extended with a wood extension, allowing it to better fit a wider range of shooters. Despite these modifications, the shotgun remains in Good+ to Very Good overall condition and retains all of the qualities that have made the Belgian Superposed so highly regarded for generations. Combining classic Belgian craftsmanship, desirable skeet configuration, and upgraded walnut furniture, this 1958 Superposed should be a wonderful shooter and an appealing collector’s piece.
