The checkering is well defined, and the stock’s gloss finish is largely intact. The stock fits tightly to the barreled action, with no play. There are no chips or cracks. Overall, the stock rates in Very Good condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright with sharp rifling. There is no erosion in the bore. In this writer’s opinion, the bore rates 10/10.
Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 98% of its original metal finish. The balance of the finish shows light wear, with light scratches on the floorplate, minor dings and finish thinning on the bolt knob, and light operational marks on the bolt. Otherwise, the bluing is deep, dark, and intact. The jeweling on the bolt is vivid and bright. The markings are clear and legible. The screw heads are tooled, but retain strong and serviceable slots. Overall, this rifle rates in Very Good condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly, as does the safety. We did not fire this rifle, but we did perform a mechanic’s check. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance requirements.
Box, Paperwork & Accessories: This rifle comes with the scope as mentioned above.
Our Assessment: The Remington Model 700 BDL represents the traditionally appointed sporting version of the long-running Model 700 bolt action platform, combining a hinged floorplate, polished blue finish, and checkered walnut furniture with the action’s familiar push-feed design. This left-handed example is chambered in .338 Winchester Magnum and fitted with a 24-inch barrel, creating a powerful hunting rifle suited to elk, moose, and other large North American game. Its Leupold VX-III 2.5–8×36 scope provides a practical magnification range for field use, while the original iron sights have been removed and their mounting holes filled.
Manufactured in May 1990, this rifle retains approximately 98% of its original blue finish, with light floorplate scratches, minor wear on the bolt knob, and normal operational marks on the bolt. The skip-line checkered walnut stock shows scattered scratches, dings, and compressions but remains tight and structurally sound, with no chips or cracks. The bore is excellent, remaining bright with sharp rifling and no erosion, and the action and safety function correctly. The jeweled bolt remains vivid, and the included Leupold scope has clear glass and rates in Fine condition. With its left-handed configuration, powerful .338 Winchester Magnum chambering, strong bore, and classic BDL presentation, this is an appealing hunting rifle for the southpaw big-game hunter or Remington collector.
