Sights / Optics: The top of the rifle has picatinny rail for optic options. There are Warne scope rings attached to the top of the picatinny rail.

Stock Configuration & Condition: The forend is a free-floating handguard with MLok slots and a handguard-length picatinny rail on top. The pistol grip is a Magpul MOE K2 with textured panels and serrated front and backstraps. The buttstock is a Magpul CTR 6-position collapsible stock with a KICK-EEZ ribbed buttpad. There are sling slots on the buttstock. There are QD sling points on the buttstock and one mounted on the top left angle of the handguard. The left side of the handguard has a 4-slot picatinny mount. There are scattered handling scuffs along the handguard and little to no handling marks on the grip and buttstock. The LOP measures 14 3/8” from the front of the trigger to the back of the fully extended buttpad. The Daniel Defense stock pistol grip is included and shows moderate handling. There are no chips or cracks. There is a hand-painted marking on the buttstock tube. Overall, the stocks are in about Fine condition.

Magazine Quantity & Condition: Two Lancer L7AWM translucent and one PMAG GEN M3 magazine. 3x 20-round magazines. The magazines show operational use and remain in Fine condition. The bottom of one magazine has been marked with a white ‘X’.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no erosion in the bore. In this writer’s opinion the bore rates 9.75/10. 

Overall Condition:  This rifle retains about 97% of its metal finish. There are scattered handling scuffs and scratches along the upper and lower receivers. There are a few minor dings on the coating. There is operational wear around the magwell. The markings are clear. The pins are unmarred. Overall, this rifle rates in about Fine condition. 

Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We did not fire this rifle. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance requirements. There is a Geissele 2 stage trigger installed.

Our Assessment:  The Daniel Defense DD5 series represents the company’s entry into the large-frame, AR-pattern rifle market, combining the familiar ergonomics of the AR platform with the increased range and power of the 7.62x51mm NATO/.308 Winchester cartridge. Rather than being a scaled-up version of Daniel Defense’s 5.56mm rifles, the DD5 was engineered around a proprietary receiver set, bolt-carrier group, barrel attachment system, and ambidextrous operating controls. The DD5V2 paired an 18″ cold-hammer-forged barrel with a free-floating M-LOK handguard and Daniel Defense’s Superior Suppression Device, providing a versatile configuration for target shooting, hunting, and general-purpose use. The heavier S2W barrel profile and 1:11″ twist were selected to provide stability and consistent performance with commonly used .308-caliber projectiles, while the rifle’s full-length optics rail allows the use of a wide variety of sighting systems. Daniel Defense continues to use 16″ and 18″ S2W-profile barrels throughout its DD5 family.

This DD5V2 retains approximately 97% of its original metal finish, with scattered handling scuffs, scratches, minor coating dings, and operational wear around the magazine well. The bright 9.75/10 bore has sharp rifling, and the action functions correctly. It has been upgraded with a Geissele two-stage trigger, Magpul MOE K2 grip, Magpul CTR stock, KICK-EEZ buttpad, Warne scope rings, and additional sling and rail hardware. Three 20-round magazines, the original Daniel Defense pistol grip, paperwork, and spare parts complete this well-equipped large-frame rifle package.
