Our Assessment: ? The Ithaca / SKB Model 200E is a Japanese-made side-by-side shotgun imported by Ithaca, combining SKB’s solid boxlock construction with classic American field-gun styling. This example is chambered in 12 gauge for 2 3/4” shells and is configured with 26” barrels, fixed Improved Cylinder and Modified chokes, single inertia trigger, individual ejectors, orange front fiber bead, silver mid-bead, serrated rib, blued finish, and a checkered wood stock set with push-button beavertail forend, capped semi-pistol grip, fluted straight comb, and rubber buttpad.
This Model 200E is in about Fair-Good condition overall, despite retaining about 98% of its metal finish and having bright 9 out of 10 bores. The metal shows only light handling wear, light scratches, and light freckling on the barrels, with clear markings and crisp receiver engraving. The stock set is the limiting factor, rating in about Fair-Good condition due to scratches, compression marks, worn checkering, and a crack and chip on the right side of the wrist. The action functions correctly, the individual ejectors function correctly, and the gun locks up with no play. This shotgun should appeal to SKB and Ithaca collectors, upland hunters, and buyers looking for a mechanically solid Japanese-made side-by-side with strong bores, good metal condition, and some notable stock wear.
