Markings: The left side of the barrel is marked “WARNING-READ INSTRUCTION BOOK FOR SAFE OPERATION-FREE FROM” / “*****REMINGTON ARMS COMPANY, INC. ILION, N.Y. U.S.A.*****” / “6.5X55 SWEDISH” and proof marks. There are proof marks on the right side of the barrel. The left side of the receiver is marked with the serial number and “Remington” / “MODEL 700”.

Sights / Optics: No iron sights. The top of the receiver has four drilled and tapped scope-mount holes with plug screws.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The stock is a one-piece checkered walnut with a semi pistol grip, fluted comb, and a Remington rubber buttpad. There are two sling studs at each end of the stock. There is minor handling wear and scuffs. On each side of the stock, there is finish loss over the heads of the pins above the trigger guard. There are no chips or cracks. The LOP measures approximately 13 3/8″ from the front of the trigger to the back of the rubber buttpad. Overall the stock rates in about Fine condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no erosion. In this writer’s opinion the bore rates 9.5/10.
Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 98% of its finish. There is minor wear throughout. The finish is showing a very light patina. The screw heads are strong and sharp. The markings are clear. Overall, this rifle rates in about Fine condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We did not fire this rifle. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance requirements.
