Markings: The left side of the barrel is marked “CAL. 270 Win. MADE IN FINLAND”, along with a proof mark. The right side of the barrel is marked “IMP’D BY STOEGER INC. WAYNE, N.J.”. The left side of the receiver is marked “SAKO IV”, along with the serial number, and a proof mark. The bottom of the floorplate is laser engraved with a moose motif, and the trigger guard is laser engraved with a floral motif.

Sights / Optics: There are no provisions for iron sights. The top of the receiver is mounted with 1″ rings for optics.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The stock is a one-piece, skip-line checkered, gloss finished, walnut stock. The stock features a capped semi-pistol grip with right-handed palm swell, a monte carlo comb with cheekpiece, red rubber buttpad, a tipped forend, and sling studs front and rear. The LOP measures 14 1/8″ from the front of the trigger to the back of the buttpad. The stock shows light wear, with a few light scratches scattered throughout. The gloss finish is intact, and the wood grain is attractive. The checkering is well defined, and the stock fits tightly to the barreled action, with no play. The barrel is free-floating all the way to the action. There are no chips or cracks. Overall, the stock rates in Fine to Excellent condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright with sharp rifling. There is no erosion in the bore. In this writer’s opinion, the bore rates 10/10.
Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 99% of its original metal finish. The balance of the finish shows no notable wear. The bluing is deep, dark, and intact. The markings are clear and legible. The screw heads are sharp. Overall, this rifle rates in Excellent condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly, as does the safety. We did not fire this rifle, but we did perform a mechanic’s check. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance requirements.

The Deluxe variant adds upgraded presentation features, including gloss walnut, skip-line checkering, engraved bottom metal, and attractive decorative appointments. This example is chambered in .270 Winchester, a classic flat-shooting hunting cartridge long favored for deer, antelope, sheep, and other medium-game applications. This rifle features a 22″ barrel, blued finish, Sako IV action, internal magazine with hinged floorplate, engraved moose motif on the floorplate, floral engraving on the trigger guard, gloss walnut stock with Monte Carlo comb and cheekpiece, and 1″ scope rings. This rifle rates in Excellent overall condition, retaining about 99% of its original blued finish with no notable metal wear. The bore is bright with sharp rifling and no erosion, rating 10/10 in this writer’s opinion. The gloss walnut stock rates in Fine to Excellent condition, showing only light scattered scratches while retaining attractive grain, intact gloss finish, well-defined skip-line checkering, tight fit to the barreled action, free-floating barrel, and no chips or cracks. The bluing remains deep, dark, and intact, the markings are clear and legible, and the screw heads are sharp. The action and safety function correctly, and the rifle includes the installed 1″ scope rings as described.
