Markings: The top of the barrel is marked with Ruger’s 2-line warning & address. The left side of the barrel is marked “416 RUGER”, along with a proof mark. The left side of the receiver is marked with the serial number, and “RUGER M77 HAWKEYE”.
Barrel Length: 20″; 22″ with the removable muzzle weight attached. Threaded 5/8×18.
Sights / Optics: The front sight is a white beaded blade, pinned to a smooth ramp, integral to the barrel. The rear sight is an express style sight, dovetailed to a ramp, screwed to the barrel. The rear of the receiver is mounted with an adjustable ghost ring aperture sight. The top of the receiver is notched for Ruger rings.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The stock has been upgraded to a one-piece H-S Precision composite stock, with a semi-pistol grip, fluted straight comb, black rubber H-S- Precision buttpad, a smooth forend, with a sling stud in the belly. The front sling stud is integral to a ring on the barrel. The LOP measures 13 1/2″ from the front of the trigger to the back of the buttpad. The stock shows light wear, with a few light scratches, dings, and imperfections throughout. The stock fits tightly to the barreled action, with no play. The barrel is free-floating. The stock’s finish is largely intact. There are no chips or cracks. Overall, the stock rates in Very Good to Fine condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright with sharp rifling. There is no erosion in the bore, but there is some light fouling present. In this writer’s opinion, the bore rates 9.75/10.
Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 96% of its original metal finish. The balance of the finish shows light wear, with scattered scratches and dings throughout the metal surfaces, along with some discoloration on the muzzle weight. Otherwise, the finish is largely intact. The markings are clear and legible. The screw heads are sharp. Overall, this rifle rates in Very Good condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly, as does the safety. We did not fire this rifle, but we did perform a mechanic’s check. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance requirements.
