Barrel Length: 22”, 25” with the classic flash hider. This is a National Match marked barrel.  

Sights / Optics: The front sight is a blade set between protective wings mounted to the flash hider. The rear sight is a fully adjustable aperture sight set between protective wings. 

Stock Configuration & Condition: The stock set includes an M1A pattern walnut stock with two sling swivels and hinged metal butt plate with storage compartment. The rifle was originally shipped with a black fiberglass stock. The handguard is a brown synthetic handguard. The length of pull is 13.25″. The stock and handguard show minor handling and some discoloration from age. The stock shows some small compressions. The butt plate functions correctly. There are no chips or cracks. Overall the stock set is in Very Good+ condition.          

Magazine Quantity & Condition: This rifle includes one 10 round magazine in Good condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no erosion in the bore. In this writer’s opinion the bore rates 9.75/10. 

Overall Condition: This rifle retains 97% of its metal finish. The friction surfaces of the bolt and receiver show minor rub wear. The gas block and barrel show some small handling marks and minor finish thinning. The receiver shows some rub wear consistent with a scope mount that has been removed. There is dust in some of the recesses. The markings are clear and the screw heads sharp. Overall this rifle is in Very Good-Very Good+ condition.   

Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We did not fire this rifle. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance requirements.

Our Assessment: This Springfield Armory M1A Loaded is chambered in .308 Winchester and represents one of the finest factory configurations available in the M1A lineup while retaining the classic appearance of the U.S. M14 service rifle. The rifle features a 22-inch National Match barrel, a walnut stock set, and a 10-round detachable magazine. The Loaded model was designed to bridge the gap between the standard M1A and the dedicated competition rifles, incorporating many of the accuracy-enhancing features serious shooters desire while preserving the traditional lines and handling characteristics that made the M14 famous.
