Sights / Optics:  There are no irons on the rifle. The attached scope is a Vortex Diamondback HP 4-16×42. The sight picture is clear. The overall condition of the scope is Excellent.

Stock Configuration & Condition:  The stock is one piece European walnut, with a straight comb, fish scaled semi-pistol grip with a medallion on the butt, a Bavarian cheek piece, and a Steyr Arms soft rubber buttpad. There is fish-scale checkering on the grip and forestock. There are sling studs and loops located on the forend and the belly of the buttstock. There is little to no wear. The LOP measures 14 5/8” from the front of the trigger to the back of the buttpad. The stock rates in about Excellent overall condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no visible erosion.  In my opinion the bore rates 9.75 out of 10.  

Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 99% of its finish. There is little to no wear on the finish. The screw heads are sharp and unmarred. The markings are clear and legible. Overall, this rifle rates in about Excellent condition. 

Mechanics: The action functions as intended. We did not fire this rifle. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance requirements.

Our Assessment: The Steyr Mannlicher Zephyr II is a refined modern bolt-action rimfire rifle, combining classic European sporting-rifle styling with high-quality Austrian manufacture. Steyr’s specifications list the Zephyr II in .22 Long Rifle with a 19.7” barrel, 5-round detachable magazine, and European walnut stock with fish-scale patterning. This example is equipped with a Vortex Diamondback HP 4-16×42 scope, matte blued finish, medium-weight spiral hammer-forged barrel with recessed crown, detachable 5-round magazine, and a one-piece European walnut stock with Bavarian cheekpiece, fish-scale checkering, sling hardware, and soft rubber Steyr buttpad.

This Zephyr II is in Excellent condition overall, retaining about 99% of its finish with little to no visible wear. The European walnut stock also rates in Excellent condition, showing little to no wear and featuring attractive fish-scale checkering on the grip and forend. The bore is bright with sharp rifling, no visible erosion, and rates 9.75 out of 10 in this writer’s opinion. The action functions as intended, the screw heads are sharp and unmarred, and the markings are clear and legible. This rifle comes with one 5-round magazine, Vortex scope, and factory box, making it a handsome and well-equipped premium rimfire package for small-game hunting, target shooting, and collectors of Steyr sporting rifles.
